This light fortification, K2/270/B1-80Z, was built in April 1937. The reconstructed bunker is open to the public on anniversaries of important days in Czechoslovak history.

The IGI Vratislavice library is home to a historical carpet, made in the Vratislavice factory as a gift for boss Willy Ginzkey’s 70th birthday. This unique carpet, whose weave portrays the history of Vratislavice, commemorates the glory days of the factory, the skill of its weavers, and the legacy that lives on here.

The weather station was installed at the town hall in1898 on request of the city administration and several local societies. Its hexagonal shape is inspired by the tower of the town hall, the copper roof is decorated by sunflowers and the hexagonal stone base is made of local granite.

This is where it all started! The first car in Bohemia drove through Liberec and its owner Theodor von Liebieg was the first in the country to receive a driver’s licence. Theodor also embarked on the first long-distance drive in the world and had a unique ‘car house’ built.

The Harcov water reservoir, also called the Harcovská Dam or Liberecká Dam, is situated not far from the centre of the city, in the valley of the Harcovský Brook, surrounded with forest from one side and with a peaceful villa quarter from the other side.

The “transbordér” is a suspension footbridge over the Nisa River with a hand drive, which was opened after the floods in October 2010. The facility itself is also intended as a tourist attraction. Reportedly it is the first and only transporter bridge in the Czech Republic.

The coal tower is the most eye-catching landmark in Vratislavice. It is 52 metres high, is shaped like a truncated cone, and was built between 1916 and 1919 by Alfréd Ginzkey, son of the founder of the local factory.
