Laco Sorokáč created the Gate of Champions for the city of Liberec. It is a five meters high statue of a bent ski jumper stylized as an inflatable arch and it can be found at the last tram stop under the Ještěd mountain.

The little bronze devil that sits in front of the gallery is a half-ton sculpture by Jaroslav Róna. So, with a touch of exaggeration one might say that it is also the brother of the Little Martian (by the same artist) that guards the spaceship on Ještěd. In 1968, the tanks of the Warsaw Pact forces also rumbled through Liberec. They left behind wounded, dead, and a sense of futility and betrayal. All this and much more is commemorated by the memorial to the victims of 21 August 1968, symbolically in the shape of a tank caterpillar track engraved with the names of Liberec’s nine victims, located right next to the Town Hall.

Atop the main town hall tower there stands a copper guard looking down on the city; he\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s known as Roland the Standard-bearer, or simply the Knight. From a height of 61 metres, not only does he add a touch of dignity to the tower, he especially symbolises the protection of the city\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s rights and privileges.

The bench that Lukáš Rittstein created for Liberec is called Eternal Tenderness. Three tram seats are imprinted into round mass that brings to mind some soft organic shape. The tram seats point out to its location, that is near the tram stop Soukenné náměstí.

Liberec Garden of Remembrance came second in the 2013 Parks and Gardens competition in the Czech Republic. The garden is open to the public and contains some prominent tombs – such as that of the great entrepreneurial family of Liberec, the Barons von Liebieg, and situated in the middle of the park is a memorial from the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 (erected in 1868).
