Which way to go:

Liberec – Machnín – Andělská Hora – Chrastava – Bílý Kostel – Hrádek nad Nisou – Chotyně – Grabštejn – Václavice – Bílý Kostel – Machnín - Liberec

From Liberec, follow the Odra-Nisa cycle route no. 14A to Machnín where you switch to the Ondra-Nisa cycle route no. 21A. At the crossroads before Kryštofovo Údolí, turn off to the right and keep riding uphill along road no. 592 to Andělská Hora. On arrival at Chrastava, you will zigzag a little bit as you first turn right, and then left to the river straight after that. After crossing a bridge, turn left once again, and continue on the new cycle track. You can now enjoy a few kilometres of easy riding along the Nisa river.

At the end of the cycle track, cross the bridge over the river and join the marked Ondra-Nisa cycle route no. 14, which will take you to Bílý Kostel. Still following the no. 14 route, keep riding past Dolní Suchá and Chotyně all the way to Hrádek nad Nisou where today´s destination lies – the Kristýna water reservoir. It was created by flooding a lignite mine, and its beautifully clean water is ideal for a pleasant dip before the next part of your trip.

If your power supplies for today have run out, you can catch a train from Hrádek back to Liberec. However, those who still have some spare energy can ride back along the already well-known Ondra-Nisa cycle route no. 14. to Chotyně. This is where you turn off the original route, cross a bridge and ride along the marked route no. 3069 all the way to Grabštejn Castle and Chateau. You can visit not only the Gothic castle cellars, the two castle floors equipped with original furniture and paintings, but above all the unique Renaissance Chapel of St. Barbora, which is richly decorated with paintings from the 16th century.

Your journey then continues past the Grabštejnský pond and the Václavická dam to Václavice where you turn right at the Y-shaped crossroads, still riding along route no. 3069. Passing through pastures with a view of Ještěd in the background will sure make a great impression on you. A pleasant descent will take you back to Bílý Kostel, through which you have already passed once today. You then return to Liberec on the now familiar long-distance Ondra-Nisa cycle route no. 14.
