The viaduct on the railway between Liberec and Česká Lípa was completed in 1900. It is thirty metres high, 202 metres long and comprises fourteen supporting columns. It is not straight but carved. During the construction work, the designers had to face a big technical issue – they had to get over the 700 metres high ridge of Ještěd. Hence, a 802-metre-long tunnel was built that begins one kilometre from the station in Novina and ends just before the station in Křižany.
