Gate of Champions

Laco Sorokáč created the Gate of Champions for the city of Liberec. It is a five meters high statue of a bent ski jumper stylized as an inflatable arch and it can be found at the last tram stop under the Ještěd mountain.
The eye-catching statue welcomed the visitors to FIS Nordic World Ski Championships that was hosted in Liberec in February 2009. However, the ski jumper stayed in the city for good as a symbolic gate to the ski and leisure park Ještěd.
