Safe with a code

The Depository is essentially a safe, a treasure house to store the paintings of the neighbouring Regional Gallery. In contrast to the lavish decor of the buildings around it, the Depository is intentionally minimalist in style, taking the form of a simple dark prism. However, don't be fooled by its austerity and take a closer look. The facade is imaginatively covered with the motif of a blueprint matrix, one of the oldest from the Liebieg factories, which is owned by the museum opposite. With this reference to the region's famous textile tradition, the designers are passing on a kind of code to future generations.
