Services

The original building houses a family centre on the ground floor, as well as meeting rooms and facilities for associations and social counselling on the 1st floor. On the top floor there is a library section for children. The modern annex is designed as a library with a film screening room in the basement. The main entrance to the library is on the 1st floor of the building, while the adults section continues on the 2nd floor, and the 3rd floor contains a reading room with a beautiful view of the treetops in the chateau park. The project was designed by Liberec architects Jiří Janďourek and Ondřej Novák.

Points of interest

Hanging on the ceiling of the library on the 2nd floor there is a historical carpet made in the Vratislavice factory as a 70th birthday present for Willy Ginzkey, son of Ignaz Ginzkey. The carpet, featuring historical motifs relating to Vratislavice, was acquired in 2020 as a donation from the town of Česká Skalice. In honour of Ignaz Ginzkey, there is a glass sculpture with his likeness in the shape of a magnifying glass by the main entrance. The name IGI is the abbreviated variant of the name of this famous native son of Vratislavice - Ignaz Ginzkey.

Awards

The IGI Vratislavice library won the Liberec Region Building of the Year 2022 competition and was also one of the four finalists in the Czech Architecture Award.
