Hrubý Rohozec Chateau
← Back to listingHrubý Rohozec state chateau, surrounded by a modest English park, offers visitors more than twenty richly furnished rooms that in the past served as representative and residential rooms of members of the Des Fours Walderode noble family of French origin.
The building is managed by the National Heritage Institute – regional office in Liberec.

I. route – duration approx. 60 minutes
The I. route includes interiors on the first floor of the chateau, including the Staircase leading to the Chapel, the Antechamber, the Sacristy, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, the Small Library, Large Library, Dining Room, the Green Salon, the Count’s Quarters (office, trophy room and bedroom), the Trophy Hallway with an overview of a historical toilet, the Countess’s Quarters (salon and bedroom), Antechamber and the Main Staircase. All these rooms are richly decorated and feature original furniture, paintings, porcelain and other objects of artistic or historical value.
II. route – duration approx. 60 minutes
The II. route includes interiors on the second floor of the chateau, including the Main Staircase, Hallway above the Staircase, the Small Hallway, the Children’s Playroom and Bedroom, the Governess’s Room, the Maid’s Room, Guest Room for servants, the Sycamore Room, the Chamber of Countess Augusta Gabriela, the Chamber of Countess Marie Immaculata, the Vaulted Room, Blue Salon, Green Room, Guest Bedroom, Large Hallway, the Chamber of Count Kun Theodor, the Billiards Room, Hallway to the Oratory and the Oratory. All these rooms are richly decorated and feature original furniture, paintings, porcelain and other objects of artistic or historical value.
III. route – duration approx. 30 minutes
The III. route includes a closer introduction to the history and architecture of the chateau in front of the gate, in the courtyard and in the medieval cellar. Then the tour of the ground floor premises, which used to be assigned to the count’s staff ensuring every day running of the chateau and the manor, follows. This includes the Footman’s Room (a dayroom for staff), Kitchen for servants, Storage Room for the count’s luggage and the Suzerain Office.
