This year’s exhibition season at the Liberec Museum of Fine Arts kicks off with Hungarian-born artist Zsófia Keresztes, who has already achieved several international artistic successes. Her exhibition, titled Trembling Empire, reflects on a world currently undergoing a major transformation. The display features a total of eight mosaic-textile sculptures inspired by the female body, nature, and human relationships. Like the artist herself, the artworks call for collaboration, equality, and a sustainable approach to life.
The series of eight sculptures was created specifically for Liberec, with the entire process—from initial designs and thematic research to execution—taking approximately two years. For Zsófia Keresztes, this exhibition in Liberec marks only her second solo show in the Czech Republic (her first took place in 2018 at Karlin Studios in Prague).
The Trembling Empire exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Liberec is accompanied by a rich program of events. In addition to guided tours, visitors can attend a double talk with artists influenced by Zsófia Keresztes, a play area for young children, an art workshop, and much more. As a keepsake, visitors can purchase exhibition-themed souvenirs such as a pink net bag, a patterned notebook, or the official exhibition catalog.
The Hungarian artist’s works will be on display in Liberec until June 1, 2025.
