A large summer show of glass, jewelry and bijou from the entire Křišťálové údolí (Crystal Valley) will light up Liberec in the last week of August. The third year of the glass festival will bring dozens of interesting exhibitions, outdoor installations, demonstrations of glass and jewelry production, fashion shows, the Crystal Market, presentations by glass masters, but also talented students, rides on a specially decorated tram, a Christmas house in summer, concerts, PechaKucha Night and many other sparkling experiences at 25 locations, most often in the city center.
Renowned glassmakers and other artists from all over the Crystal Valley, together with glassmaking and art schools, are involved in the creation of the festival.
This year, the festival will be in the spirit of the 300-year anniversary of the production of glass lamps in the north of Bohemia.
Visitors can take part in the permanent festival program, try working with glass for themselves, whether at the mobile smelter in front of the Liberec town hall, at the glass kiln or during grinding, even the smallest children will be involved in the creative workshops.
Crystal Valley Week 2024 will fill Dr. Edvard Beneš square, the Liberec Botanical Garden, the historic Liebieg Palace, the Regional Science Library, the Small Exhibition Hall, the technical monument Zauhlovačka, the Neo-Rococo cafe Pošta, the Birthplace of Ferdinand Porsche, the North Bohemian Museum, the Spa Regional Gallery, the tram depot of the Liberec transport company and other unexpected places.
