On 15 June, the Liberec Region launched a trial operation of a new tourist line from Horní Hanychov in Liberec to the Ještědka car park. This is at least a partial substitute transport instead of the cable car, which has not been in operation since the tragic accident in autumn 2021. From the Ještědka car park, Hotel Ještěd can be reached on foot in approximately 20 minutes. Bus line 79 also runs in October (timetable below).
The line is numbered 79 and departs from the tram terminus in Horní Hanychov, which it follows. The bus also stops at the stops “U lanovky” and “Na Výpřeži”, where there are parking lots as in Horní Hanychov, and its final stop is at the Ještědka parking lot.
During this test period, the line is operated by a high-floor 10.5-meter bus. The vehicle allows the carriage of a pram, but is not suitable for the carriage of passengers in a wheelchair.
The price of the fare within the session fare is CZK 60 in cash, or CZK 48 when paying by cashless method. The passenger will thus be able to purchase a ticket in the Idolka mobile application or when boarding public transport in Liberec. The price of the regional ticket also includes transport within the Liberec public transport system.
