Golden Takin (Budorcas taxicolor bedfordi)
Also this year, our zoo can boast about new offsprings of rare Golden Takines. These are two males and two females that you can see from the first days in the runs. Since 2002, our keepers have managed to rearing 39 offsprings. Sixteen years ago Chinese Takines were imported into the Liberec Zoo directly from China and for a long time they were the only specimens of this animal in Europe. Our zoo continues to be the only Chinese Takin breeder in the old continent.
Roan antelope (Hippotragus equinus)
Liberec Zoo also enjoys the youngest of the world’s fourth largest antelope – roan antelope. The male which came to the world in mid-March is regularly following his mother and other antelope to the outdoor enclosure.
Horse – Miniappaloosa (Equus caballus)
After the takines and the antelope, domestic horse, miniappaloosa, were born. On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, a small female came to the world and, according to the words of her keepers, she is well.
Suricate (Suricata suricatta)
In the suricate run there can be seen new offsprings. These animals are very popular in zoos. In the middle of February, three offsprings were born in the Liberec Zoo and the present group has a total of seven members.
